Introduction to cross-country skiing

In order to discover, develop and perfect the techniques related to the practice of cross-country skiing, an instructor offers several tips and tricks for all age groups.

In small groups, learn the right sliding techniques to familiarize yourself with this sport. You will appreciate more the joys of cross-country skiing and will be able to benefit from all its benefits in complete safety!

In the program
Learn how to get up easily after a fall, how to go up and down small slopes and discover the alternating step. Your instructor will also be able to take the opportunity to correct some missteps and share the right techniques with you to make your glide easier.

The activities take place at the Fernand Seguin Ecological Center. The instructor will be waiting for participants at the entrance of the chalet.

Sessions for adults (13 years and older) and sessions for children aged between 7 and 12 are planned. Take care to confirm the information when booking.

The presence of parents is not required.

$20 plus tax per participant

The activity is offered from 9 a.m. to around 11 a.m. depending on the capacity of the group. We ask you to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance on the site and at least 30 minutes in advance if you plan to rent your equipment)

Thanks to the La Petite Expé program, cross-country ski rental is free for children aged 12 and under (ID required)

Participants aged 13 and over can rent cross-country ski equipment at the rental center with a 10% discount on the rental of complete equipment.

  • It is forbidden to eat or stroll inside the chalet.
  • Customers can use the benches made available to them to change boots when renting equipment. The boots can be left on site, but plan to bring personal effects to the car or in a backpack.
  • Reduction of the reception capacity to 50% in the chalet.
  • Plan a waiting line outside the chalet.

Is the equipment provided?
Equipment is provided free of charge for children ages 7 to 12. You must still indicate that your child will need equipment when registering, even if it is free. For participants aged 13 and over, a 10% discount on the regular rental price is offered. You will also need to select this option during registration.

My child will soon be 7 years old. Can he participate?
We only accept children aged 7 and over. However, if your child turns 7 in February or March, we can make an exception. However, you will have to advance his birthday when registering. Otherwise, the system will not allow registration.

Can I accompany my child?
Although we do not recommend it, you can stay with your child for a few minutes at the start of class. The instructor will be accompanied by one of our animators to ensure the supervision of the group. For the benefit of the children, we ask parents to leave after a few minutes in order to maintain a small ratio in the group and not to create inconvenience for the other children.

What happens if the weather is not nice?
Cancellation and refund if the weather does not allow the activity to take place. Our team will communicate with the participants the day before the activity.

What do we do if we have COVID or symptoms?
In case of COVID symptoms or in case of presence of a positive case at home, DO NOT ATTEND THE SITE. The activity may be postponed or refunded if we have received the notice the day before the activity before 4 p.m. Then contact the or at 450 698-3133 #401 and leave a message.

What should we bring?
Be prepared to spend 2 hours outdoors! We recommend snow pants as well as a comfortable coat to move around in and layers of non-cotton clothing. Plan to bring a water bottle in a backpack!

How many people will there be in the group?
We accept a maximum of 10 participants in order to provide an enjoyable experience.

Is there a waiting list if there is no more space?
There is no waiting list. However, if our initiations are full, we will look at the possibility of opening other sessions. Stay tuned on our social networks!
